What is the environmental fee on my waste or dumpster bill?

An environmental fee is a charge that many states impose on waste management companies for the disposal of waste at facilities like landfills, incinerators, compost facilities, and recycling centers. This fee is typically calculated per ton and is designed to cover the environmental costs associated with waste disposal, such as pollution control, site maintenance, and closure and post-closure care.

At American On-Site, the environmental fee is reflected in your invoice based on the type of service you receive. For services priced by volume, the environmental fee is included in a flat rate price and will not be a separate line item on your invoice. For services priced by weight, the environmental fee will be included as a separate line on your invoice.

This fee is part of our commitment to responsible waste management and environmental stewardship. It helps ensure that the costs associated with protecting our environment are covered, and it contributes to our mission of managing resources for good. All details regarding the environmental fee will be discussed at the point of sale and included in your service agreement.
